My first haircut!

OK so it had to happen eventually. With the arrival of the cold weather my signature curls went straight. I couldn't see where I was going because my hair was hanging down over my eyes. Mom decided she could tackle this task herself and cut it. Check out my new look and some recent fall photos. I sure am loving playing in all the leaves in our backyard. I'm sure I'll not be so keen in a few years when Mom and Dad have me helping them with the raking.

My brother is smiling! He has great dimples don't you think? So far I really like having him around. Mom and Dad let me hug and kiss him all the time.

Happy Belated Canada Day!

So we had a great Canada Day. The weather forecast was terrible but Mom and Dad decided to host a party regardless. Turns out the weather was great and we had a good turn out of about 30 people. There were lots of kids and we spent lots of time swimming in the pool. Seem like I have a lot of toys too because I had enough to entertain all the kids. We were sad to miss Aunt Jen's wedding in Cuba but Dex is just too young to travel. He spent Canada Day in his crib sleeping for the most part.
We managed to find some sunshine this weekend too. Here are some more photos of me swimming in the pool and outside with Dad.

Mom and Dad got this great play mat from Walmart. Finally the sun is out and I got to spend some time playing in the water. And yes I know my shorts are a bit big!

Baby Dex is home!

My baby brother is home from the hospital! I met him for the first time yesterday. He's pretty cute! Every time he makes any noise I tell Mom that he is crying and remind her that he needs a bottle. This morning I asked Mom and Dad if I could give him a kiss and they said yes. So far I like having a baby brother (of course all he does is sleep at this point)!

Time for another update on my brother Dex. I still have yet to meet him but Mom and Dad keep me posted on his progress. He had a second head ultrasound this week and the results were normal. He also had a hearing test this week and passed with flying colours. He has gained so much weight that he is now 5lbs. 3ozs. much bigger than I was when I came home from the hospital. In fact that have stopped adding calories to Mom's milk.
Unfortunately he had a couple of apnea spells last week that have delayed him coming home. He must go a week without a spell before they will discharge him. Hopefully it won't be too long now. I am getting really excited to meet him.

He's getting bigger!

My baby brother Dex is doing well. He's up over 4lbs. and graduated from the isolet to the water bed and now a cot. Turns out he's a real champ at staying warm. I haven't met him yet but hear that he's got quite the voice. Mom went in to visit him and he had three soothers in his bed. Not a good sign. The nurse let Mom know that he was disrupting the other babies. He has started to bottle and breastfeed a little bit. He's still working out coordinating sucking, swallowing and breathing but is doing pretty good given that he's just 33 weeks gestation.
He had the dreaded eye test and thankfully the results were great. No follow up required. Unfortunately the head ultrasound will require a follow up because he had some fluid on his brain. The hope is that the fluid will be absorbed back in by the time they repeat the ultrasound on June 2nd. Mom spends here days cuddling with Dex while I'm at daycare and after they tuck me in at night Mom and Dad head back to the hospital together. I'm excited to meet him. Hopefully it won't be too long from now.

I'm a big brother!

My baby brother Dex Ethan was born on Mothers Day after Mom spent 4 days in the hospital and Dad spent a week being Mr. Mom. Dex is 3 pounds 11 ounces and will be staying in the hospital for at least a month. I am happy to have Mom home and am excited to meet my brother soon! His face is a little red but apparently this is much improved from the purple swollen face he had at birth. He made a face first entry in to the world but thankfully he was so small a c-section was avoided!

Happy Easter!

We weren't able to travel to see Grandma and Grandpa for Easter because the doctor didn't want mom to be too far from the hospital. She's 27 weeks pregnant today! We ended up staying in Ottawa and making the best of the sunny Easter weekend. We went to the experimental farm and spent lots of time at the park. We have two ducks that are living in our pool and I love watching them. Here are few of my more recent pictures.
